Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy (or Physiotherapy) is a treatment modality first developed in London in 1896 to restore and maintain maximum movement and functional ability that is diminished or lost through aging or injury. Physical therapy is concerned with health promotion, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation as needed. It utilizes exercise, movement and functional training, manual treatment, electrical stimulation, utrasound therapy, iontophoresis, cryotherapy or heat therapy, provision of aids and appliances, instruction, counseling and home therapy programs to facilitate care in the management of problems such as:

  • Neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis and Cerebral Palsy
  • Post-Stroke and Post-Myocardial Infarction Rehabilitation

Physical therapy is used in our office as both a primary treatment and an adjunctive treatment to Osteopathic manipulation and Acupuncture to help strengthen and stabilize patients, to increase range of motion and to promote and maintain function and mobility.
