Therapuetic Medical Massage
Therapeutic Massage Therapy is the manual or mechanical application of pressure, tension, motion or vibration to the soft tissues of the body, including muscles, connective tissue, ligaments, tendons, joints, lymphatic vessels or organs to improve circulation and motion and to relieve pain. Medical or therapeutic massage is the focused application of the principles of massage therapy to a specific area of the body that has experienced some form of injury or has lost proper function and mobility. It is performed either clothed or unclothed. Massage therapy is used as either a primary treatment or an adjunctive modality for a number of patients with varying conditions. Therapeutic massage is especially beneficial in the treatment of patients who have been injured in motor vehicle accidents, work-related accidents or while playing sports.
